055 | granlab – industrial romance

Fresh air from the green Bavarian country meadows, techno machines parked in a peaceful world: Granlab made himself scarce in the last time, at least that‘s what people say. But this is just the silence before the storm. Yet, while being one of the label operators he presents his first little mini-album with massive techno-ish dancefloor fillers which are united as usual through one central element: pop appeal.
Exactly that is also being taken up by Max Cooper. The rising star Max is not just a highly regarded DJ all over the world but also well-known through his releases on Traum Schallplatten and his outstanding remixes and presents a congenial version of „Industrial Romance“.

some feedback:
M8 Magazine September -“Album of The  Month” Proving that techno isnt all about bang bang, Granlab has really surpassed himself here. Taking you back to a 90’s techno vibe where absolutely anything goes, this is one album you need to be listening from start to finish without any interuptions whatsoever. With strong lead lines and infectious percussion work, there’s not alot like this out there at the moment and it’s something that you find yourself reaching for again and again. Max Cooper provides the serious 4/4 dance workout in the middle of the album for those that really must fit something into a regular 4/4 set, but the rest of the album is very much of a ‘throw it in and keep your fingers crossed’ vibe. It’s take you a good few months to get over this one, guaranteed.  M8/M8 Chris Finke  (Atomic  Jam, The Drop, Flux) Airplay – 10/10 for this – playing the 2 mixes of Industrial Romance but the album is spot on. Nice work! –Josh Wink  (Ovum Recordings) Airplay – Like the industrial romance orign and the Kuns track… Haunting melodies. Look forward to playing out! Thanks – Laurent Garnier (F Com) Airplay – Full of realy lovely music – Full support from me (radio and clubs) – Thanks as always – LAurent GARnier – Heiko Laux (Kanzleramt) Airplay – Kunstlicht ist großartig. Wird gespielt;) – Mathias Kaden (Vakant) Airplay – very very interesting for me!!great sounds… – Piemont (MBF / Hi Freaks) Airplay – Max Coopers remix of  „Industrial Romance“ is killer! Full support here… – Savas Pascadilis (Int. Deejay Gigolo) Airplay – nice experimenal stuff..summer music for the beach – Someone Else (Found / Unfoundsound) Airplay – the max cooper remix is nice. – Resident Advisor It’s been something of a quiet year thus far for Bavarian producer Heiko Schwanz AKA Granlab. Aside from a solitary remix for his own Broque imprint, Schwanz has been laying low out in the German countryside, biding his time before the release of his debut artist (mini-)album Industrial Romance. (That said, Schwanz has never been a producer to rush the releases, with roughly a single record put out each year since 2002.) Spanning a total of eight, „techno-ish dancefloor fillers,“ the offering includes a remix of the title track from Traum Schallplatten’s UK melody maker Max Cooper, leaving seven previously unreleased Granlab cuts for consumption. – ORF / FM 4 – DJ Makossa Airplay – this sounds very deep ! – will try out, – cheers – m. – Snooba (Vinylamalgame.com / Contrebande Radioshow) Airplay – Exellent for radio mate ! – Inudstrial romance yes .; of course .. – perfect title for this tracks – One of the album that we wil explore with listeners since september – BOUM! TCHAK! on CIBL 101.5 FM Radio Montréal Airplay this one is gloriously exquisite!  Have not quite absorbed the whole – release but my first impressions are very high.  The title track is simply – a grandiose journey.  The Max Cooper rmx turns it into a proper dancefloor – filler.  Kunstlicht is a proper tripped out soundscape twisted the way I – like them. Haven’t heard such fresh and great collection of tracks in a – while! Wow! – „DIVERSIONS“ ON  CHRY  105.5FM Airplay – „Overall, a very interesting and engaging listen featuring lots of real lovely sounds and arrangements to sink your head into! Some have a real introspective feel – WINTERMORGEN, others are nice melodic builders – INDUSTRIAL ROMANCE, and my fave BITTERSWEET, laced with a heapful of techno prowess“ – Mateo Murphy (Underwater, Tronic, Turbo, Ascend) Airplay – Love the max cooper remix! I’m a big fan of his and this doesn’t disappoint. – Noah Pred (Metapath, Morris Audio) Airplay – loving the manic big room bleep madness of ‚kunstlicht‘, but the max cooper remix will probably get the most rotation from me with its steady bassline and stripped down fx.  thanks for sending… – Radio 1 Airplay – I like track Industrial Romance, cool. Will support, is it album or ep? – DR Radiohuset Airplay – High quality and versatile. Will keep 5 of the tracks, which is all top tracks. Tomas Barfod aka Tomboy (Gomma, Turbo, Get Physical) Airplay – nice and deep – will play – WTM radio Airplay -“kunstlicht” BLN.FM September Review  Heike Reich (Zündfunk, female:pressure, Jimy Pansen, Whoomb) Airplay – wie toll, mein liebstes netlabel!!! – Radio Z Airplay – angenehm verspulte/-träumte clicks & cuts, werd ich gern was in – tiefton spielen. – ps sympathische charts-liste des künstlers – Acid Pauli aka Console (Disko B) Airplay – I really like _03_industrial_romance – I will play it! Axel Fischer aka FC Shuttle (part of Console, on3radio) Airplay – D.Diggler Airplay – schön hypnotisch ! like that ! – Edgar Peng (Tonkind/ Turmspringer) Airplay – nice release…great remix! – Hometrainer Airplay – Max cooper rmx – Kunstlicht Find ich gut Jeff Samuel (Trapez) strange, the listening tracks and the dancetracks sound like 2 totally different artists.  i like the listening tracks anyway. – Marco Miroir (Paso Music) Airplay – B1 finde ich  cool. – auch der rest: gute musik :) – DJ Broadcast – Haven’t heard the whole thing yet but I like what I hear. – Nice moods, deep vibes.  – Makes a good and very welcome change from all the Abbleton-mud that’s pouring in every day.  – Thanks for sharing this. – Terje Bakke (Lordag) Airplay – „industry romance orginal was the best one on broque“ – DJ Fra (Nitsa club) Airplay – Brillian anddiverse album! Really love it – Hexadance Review – EQ Magazine very nice, but not a review – Pete Tong’s Assistant Airplay – Thanks for this one, very nice atmosphere! – Pezzner Airplay – I very much enjoyed all the songs on this LP.  Wintermorgen caught my – attention and the Max Copper mix roped me in. Nice work! Filter 27 WOW, this is surprisingly good! Love „Bittersweet“! Thanks a million – for sending this in! – Brothers’ Vibe Airplay – Amazing work!!  Favorite trax are Märzsonne, Industrial Romance [Max Cooper Remix], Bittersweet and Between Nothing… – Dustin Zahn  (Enemy Records) not entirely my thing, but i can always respect an artist who goes out of his way to try something different with an album. – Elon (Clink) Airplay – very nice tunes here….  – bittersweet for me. InsideOut (Clink) Airplay – i actually prefer the more experimental tunes on the album, Wintermorgen and Between Nothing being my favorites. – Stryke  (Droid,  Substance, Plastic City) Airplay – the max cooper mix has just the right amount of acid.  love it. :) erstaunlich… – Cio D’Oor (broque/time to express/ prologue) bittersweet: it’s an experimental track with lots of nice bitter & sweets in between. kunstlicht: creativ acid industrial romance: says absolutely what it feels … a romance to industrial sounds wintermorgen: its my favorite of this record. absolutely beautiful breakbeat chill out music! cool! – djmitch.it Latest release from broque.de netlabel is more than electronic music. Industrial Romance by Granlab is one album that you have to listen at all, take your mind to early ‘90 electronic vibes, warm lead lines, groovy percussion, ambient minimalistic landscapes and more… I think that this is one of the best Granlab productions, and it’s better that you download it now, before this album will not more available to free download ….that’s a fu xx shit damned music !!
