With her second EP on Broque, Carla Agull\u00f3 takes a peak into the 90s when everything was bigger, bolder and, well, faster. And while taking a step back in time, she seems to hit the current zeitgeist spot on. Clocking in at 137 bpm, both tracks empathize with the current upbeat vibes on dancefloors across the world, but at the same time, hold on to traditional club music ingredients that could fit into any old school house set when pulling the pitch down a notch. \u201cChispi\u201d is fittingly named after both its Spanish meaning (\u201ccute\u201d) and its English one (\u201csparkling\u201d), both attributes that resonate well when listening to the striking snares, melodic vibes and upbeat chorus of the track, that would blend into both contemporary dancefloors as well as club music sceneries from the early 90s. The second track, \u201cSharp\u201d, seems to throw around its boundless energy complete with signature snare drum rolls, an overall trancy vibe and sounds that remind of British early 90s rave from acts like 808 State. Bridging between dance music\u2019s past and contemporary club music, what seems to bind these two tracks together is their uncompromised drive to get people dancing, a quality that is as timeless as Xols music.\n<\/p>\n
