Counterfly’s last Broque EP had already distinguished itself with a very eclectic crossover sound between club, beat acrobatics and home listening. His new track „The Only Land Where“ takes this to the next level by adding a new perspective to Lorenzo Olivieri’s sound that is brimming with a charming pop appeal. In a very unagitated and somewhat British way, the mix of playful melodies, cut-up vocals and bouncing basslines floats across a dancefloor that is reminiscent of the rare genre-bending tracks of the likes of Mount Kimbie or Four Tet that hit the sweet spot between club and pop. Counterflys sound radiates such a mature matter-of-factness that it’s hard to believe that he is only half the age of many of the other artists on the Broque roster. Speaking of which: with his remix, our longtime companion Alec Troniq adds a marching bass drum and a bit more straightforwardness that heads right into peaktime dancefloor. With a very mature sound at the intersection of song and club, „The Only Land Where“ should open up a broad listenership for Lorenzos sound and already makes us curious about what to expect next from this aspiring artist.\n<\/p>\n
