Bastien is based in Guayaquil, one of the biggest cities in Ecuador, and his\u00a0reputation spreads already beyond the borders of South America. His\u00a0accentuated and percussive house tracks underline his long-lasting love\u00a0affair with club music over the last 15 years. Yet they also demonstrate\u00a0his profession as mastering engineer through their more than just\u00a0well-timed snares, hooks and baselines which all fall precisely into\u00a0their position. The five tracks of the „Equatorial Connection“-EP\u00a0combine deepness, highly functional perfectionalism and playful vibes\u00a0into a soundtrack which wants nothing more than making you move, shake\u00a0and bang your head. Bastiens tracks wouldn’t be the same though without\u00a0the support of his buddies Jaramillo, Jose Wated, and Manuel Nu\u00f1ez, who\u00a0help to target his output straight at the dancefloor yet flirt with\u00a0charming melodies. That is probably best documented by „Distracciones“\u00a0which might be the uncrowned hit of the EP with its rejoicing synths and\u00a0frisky IDM-influenced house sound. Apparently, Bastiens sound is good\u00a0for both body and brain.<\/p>\n
