And now something completely different. After a lot of minimal beats we want to create a crossover to some other electronic styles which also involves handmade parts. So let’s transfer you in a quiet winter mood with the music of Auto-Pilot from Barnsley in the UK.
Auto-Pilot originally surfaced in1995 but disappeared in 1996 and could include up to 5 people for the live shows. All the tracks have different ideas and stories. Like the entire beginning of the song ‘Sleep’, recorded using children’s toy instruments. ‘Spoon Full of Sugar’ was written over ten years ago and had lyrics. The vocals at the end of ‘Deep Thought’ were added one year after the original instrumental recording and are about a father’s hopes and aspirations of his newborn child. Be sure, one thing in this music that is always the same: the soul.

Und nun zu etwas ganz anderem. Nach vielen minimalen Beats möchten wir einmal wieder eine Verbindung zu anderen elektronischen Stilen schaffen und auch handgemachtes nicht außer Acht lassen. So lasst uns euch in eine ruhige Winter Stimmung bringen – mit der Musik von Auto-Pilot aus Barnley / UK.
Auto-Pilot wurde 1995 gegründet und besteht eigentlich erst seit 1996 so richtig aus 5 Leuten für ihre Live Shows. Interessant ist, dass all ihre Stücke vollkommen andere Ideen und Geschichten haben. So ist beispielsweise der Anfang von „Sleep“ mit Spielzeuginstrumenten aufgenommen worden. „Spoon Full of Sugar“ ist bereits 10 Jahre alt und hatte ursprünglich auch Text. Der Gesang am Ende von „Deep Thought“ ist erst 1 Jahr nach der originalen instrumentalen Aufnahme hinzugefügt worden und handelt von den Hoffnungen und Gedanken eines Vaters über sein neugeborenes Kind. Eins hat die Musik von Auto-Pilot immer gemeinsam: die Seele.

Es wurde wieder Zeit, daß sich Herr Granlab zurückmeldet, um seine gefeierte Leuchtfeuer EP mit frischer Musik gewordener Tanzenergie fortzusetzen. Dabei beherrscht er in wieder neuer Form oldschoolige Technorhythmen mit einem gewissen Popepeal ins rechte Mischungsverhältnis zu setzen. Er springt dabei zwischen den Genres, stampft voran oder spielt auch mal Gitarre – alles mit leichter aber niemals hoffnungsloser Melancholie.
Der Wahl-Münchener ist einer der Broque.de Macher und für alle technischen Belange, sowie das Mastering zuständig. Man kennt ihn bereits von dem R.A.N.D.-Label 3b, wie auch Polyfon und als regelmäßig auftauchender Remixer.

It was time Mr. Granlab comes back to continue his celebrated “Leuchtfeuer EP” with fresh music and dance energy. He uses oldschool techno rhythms with modern pop appeal in the right mixture. He jumps between the styles, stomps ahead or plays guitar – all together in a soft, but never hopeless melancholy.
The Munich based guy is one of the Broque.de founders. He is responsable for all technical topics and also the man behind the mastering. Granlab is well-known by his releases on the R.A.N.D.-label 3b, Polyfon and also as a frequently surfaced remixer.

Nils Hoffmann is a devil of a fellow in music. He plays various instruments, among them guitar and piano. He lives in Hamburg and he was in his life also concertmaster, composer of chamber music and also tenor and bass. Simultaneously he works as a teacher for music, plays in a rockband and is interested in electronic songs. And so we get a real all-round mixture of Techno, Swing, Jazz, Pop and Rock – out of all proportion. We can only present an extract of his work.

Nils Hoffmann ist ein Tausendsassa- Vollblutmusiker, der neben Gitarre und Klavier eine ganze Instrumentensammlung beherrscht. Er lebt in Hamburg, war in seinem Leben schon Konzertmeister, komponierte Kammermusik und sang Tenor und Bass, um sich gleichzeitig neben seiner Musik lehrenden Tätigkeit für elektronische Lieder zu interessieren, sowie in einer Rockband zu spielen. Und so erhalten wir eine wirklich vielseitige Mischung aus Techno, Swing, Jazz, Pop und Rock, die ihresgleichen sucht und hier nur in Ansätzen präsentiert werden kann.
