Nach über 1 Jahr ist es endlich wieder so weit: Ricardo Mestre aus Lissabon verwöhnt uns ein weiteres Mal mit seinen wunderbaren Melodien und verbreitet ungezwungene Lässigkeit im trauten Heim. Seine erste EP war äußerst erfolgreich und eine Fortsetzung unsere Pflicht.
Der Laptop Artist und Grafiker ist für die Eventreihe “Green Tone Bits” verantwortlich, bei der er jeden Monat seine persönliche Best of frei downloadbarer Musik präsentiert. Broque.de wünscht euch allen eine wunderbare Weihnachtszeit und verabschiedet sich mit diesen ruhigen Klängen in eine kleine Winterpause, um danach wieder mit Karacho loszulegen.

After one year, eventually it is done: Ricardo Mestre from Lisbon treats us for just another time with his wonderful melodies and spreads gentle relaxedness across the world. Since his first EP was very successful, a follow-up is our very duty.
The laptop artist and graphic designer also is responsible for the event series “Green Tone Bits” which he uses to present his personal favorites of free netaudio releases. Broque.de says goodbye with these mellow tunes in order to retreat over a short winterbreak to refuel for an energetic start into 2010 and wishes a merry christmas to everyone.

Frische Landluft knackig grüner bayerischer Wiesen, Technomaschinen geparkt in heiler Welt: Granlab macht sich in letzter Zeit etwas rar, sagen zumindest manche Leute. Dies ist aber insgeheim nur die Ruhe vor dem Sturm. Schon präsentiert er als einer der Broque-Betreiber sein erstes kleines Mini-Album voll wuchtig technoider Tanzbomben, die meist einen wichtigen Aspekt gemeinsam haben: das Pop-Element.
Jenes nimmt auch der in London lebende Max Cooper gern auf. Der Shooting Star ist nicht nur gefragter DJ weltweit sondern auch durch seine großartigen Veröffentlichungen u.a. auf Traum Schallplatten, sowie durch seine außergewöhnlichen Remixarbeiten bekannt und präsentiert uns seine kongeniale Version von „Industrial Romance“.

M8 Magazine September -“Album of The Month” Proving that techno isnt all about bang bang, Granlab has really surpassed himself here. Taking you back to a 90’s techno vibe where absolutely anything goes, this is one album you need to be listening from start to finish without any interuptions whatsoever. With strong lead lines and infectious percussion work, there’s not alot like this out there at the moment and it’s something that you find yourself reaching for again and again. Max Cooper provides the serious 4/4 dance workout in the middle of the album for those that really must fit something into a regular 4/4 set, but the rest of the album is very much of a ‘throw it in and keep your fingers crossed’ vibe. It’s take you a good few months to get over this one, guaranteed. Synthetische Melodien und Klaenge, die von Freiluft umweht scheinen, verwirbelte Toene, erbluehende Grooves…….Nicht unbedingt alles tanzbar, aber das sollte sowieso nicht oberste Prioritaet haben, wenn man sich glaubwuerdig mit elektronischer Musik auseinandersetzt. Der Titeltrack wird von Max Cooper geremixt. Enjoy – zintzen.org Genau zweieinhalb Jahre ist es her , dass wir mit Granlabs “Leuchtfeuer“ einen der ersten regelmässigen “Klangapparate” mit einer Produktion aus dem Hause broque befüllten : Fungierte damals die still verträumte Release #32 sozusagen als Einstiegsdroge in einen seither nie enttäuschenden , stets einen gesunden Abstand von der geschniegelten Glätte des Mainstreams wahrenden Klangkosmos , hat das Label seither gebührliche Aufmerksamkeit erfahren und kann als sichere Adresse für elektronisch- minimalistische Musikalien gelten , welchen dieses “Ein wenig Andere” eignet , welches man wohl “Charakter” nennt. Heiko Schwanz aka Granlab (der übrigens eben auch einen Mixotic- Mix bestreitet) präsentiert sich mit der Release #55 diesmal von einer etwas mehr am Industrial der 80er Jahre inspirierten Seite . In die entsprechend mit “Industiral Romance” betitelte Trackfolge mischen sich kühlere Nuancen in die warm- satt pulsierenden Beatz . Kleinere akustische Ausflüge auch ins Atonale erweisen , dass die zurückliegenden zweieinhalb Jahre nicht ungenutzt verstrichen sind . Sich permanent ändern , um sich treu zu bleiben : auf Granlab trifft dieses Diktum hörbar zu.

Fresh air from the green Bavarian country meadows, techno machines parked in a peaceful world: Granlab made himself scarce in the last time, at least that‘s what people say. But this is just the silence before the storm. Yet, while being one of the label operators he presents his first little mini-album with massive techno-ish dancefloor fillers which are united as usual through one central element: pop appeal.
Exactly that is also being taken up by Max Cooper. The rising star Max is not just a highly regarded DJ all over the world but also well-known through his releases on Traum Schallplatten and his outstanding remixes and presents a congenial version of „Industrial Romance“.

Broque hat als Label bisher sehr elegant den Spagat zwischen freien Mp3-Releases , kostenpflichtigen digitalen VOe und Vinyl geschafft. Das Granlab Album kommt dahingehend digital in die Stores. Musikalisch trifft der Albumtitel ganz gut zu. Synthetische Melodien und Klaenge, die von Freiluft umweht scheinen, verwirbelte Toene, erbluehende Grooves…….Nicht unbedingt alles tanzbar, aber das sollte sowieso nicht oberste Prioritaet haben, wenn man sich glaubwuerdig mit elektronischer Musik auseinandersetzt. Der Titeltrack wird von Max Cooper geremixt. Enjoy – zintzen.org Genau zweieinhalb Jahre ist es her , dass wir mit Granlabs “Leuchtfeuer“ einen der ersten regelmässigen “Klangapparate” mit einer Produktion aus dem Hause broque befüllten : Fungierte damals die still verträumte Release #32 sozusagen als Einstiegsdroge in einen seither nie enttäuschenden , stets einen gesunden Abstand von der geschniegelten Glätte des Mainstreams wahrenden Klangkosmos , hat das Label seither gebührliche Aufmerksamkeit erfahren und kann als sichere Adresse für elektronisch- minimalistische Musikalien gelten , welchen dieses “Ein wenig Andere” eignet , welches man wohl “Charakter” nennt. Heiko Schwanz aka Granlab (der übrigens eben auch einen Mixotic- Mix bestreitet) präsentiert sich mit der Release #55 diesmal von einer etwas mehr am Industrial der 80er Jahre inspirierten Seite . In die entsprechend mit “Industiral Romance” betitelte Trackfolge mischen sich kühlere Nuancen in die warm- satt pulsierenden Beatz . Kleinere akustische Ausflüge auch ins Atonale erweisen , dass die zurückliegenden zweieinhalb Jahre nicht ungenutzt verstrichen sind . Sich permanent ändern , um sich treu zu bleiben : auf Granlab trifft dieses Diktum hörbar zu.

Schon interessant, wie lang man für die Zusammenstellung einer EP brauchen kann. Bei Momento hat es zumindest sehr lang gedauert, um sich für den geeigneten Bogen zu entscheiden. Und diesen Bogen bilden die 2 originalen originellen Tracks vom aus dem nordischen Netaudio Bereich sehr bekannten Rich vom Dorf.
Noch interessanter, was andere Leute aus einer eingängigen musikalischen Vorlage machen. So freuen wir uns besonders über eine nicht alltägliche Mischung aus Georg Neufeld und Hakan Lidbo, einer sehr speziellen Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem von Gigolo bekannten Tampopo Noodleking und Garry Grand, sowie einer kompletten Neuinterpretation durch Pseudónimo aus Lissabon. Ein Experiment mit lieblich deepen Klängen.

Quite interesting how long it can take to compile an EP. Momento definitely took his time, to decide on the right story line. This story is told by the two original tracks produced by RichVomDorf, who is well-known in the field of netaudio.
It might be also even more interesting to find out what other people do with his material. In that, we are very happy about the very untypical combination of Georg Neufeld and Hakan Lidbo, a very special collaboration between Tampopo Noodleking of Gigolo-fame and Garry Grand and last but not least, an entirely new interpretation by Pseudonimo from Lisbon. An experiment with lovely deep sounds.

Cie aka Thilo Geertzen is a player between the worlds. On the one hand he lives in a digital universe and prepares it for others who want to enter. On the other hand, he is a lover of analogue technology and defends his roots.
The Cologne based artist takes his time and enjoys telling fairytales to mediate between these two worlds. After a long absence, this new EP evolved which does underline the basic pillars of techno but also provides a foretaste of what lies beyond these fundamental principles.

Cie alias Thilo Geertzen ist ein Spieler zwischen den Welten. Zum einen bewegt er sich in digitalen Welten und bereitet diese vor – für andere Menschen, die diese betreten wollen. Zum anderen ist er herzensanalog und verteidigt diese Bodenständigkeit mit Selbstverständlichkeit.
Der Kölner lässt sich Zeit und erzählt gern märchenhafte Geschichten, um zwischen seinen 2 Welten zu vermitteln. Nach längerer Abstinenz formte sich daraus diese neue EP, die einerseits grundsolide klar macht, was Techno bedeutet, andererseits aber auch süßlich verlockt, welche Freuden es außerhalb der Naturgesetze noch zu entdecken gilt.
